Background:
Dr. Yee was born and raised in Hawaii. He has been practicing on Maui since 1987 and is a founding member of Kihei-Wailea Medical Center. He received his medical degree back in 1982 after graduating from the University of Hawaii, John A. Burns School of Medicine, then went on to complete a three
year Internship and Residency program in Family Practice in Arizona at the Phoenix Baptist Hospital and Medical Center, where he was Chief Resident. He spent the next two years in Indiana with the National Health Service Corp, before returning home to Hawaii.
His emphasis has been on family medicine. Dr. Yee believes that you have to know your patient well, but must also know the patient’s family in order to properly care for the individual. The patient’s family life experiences and beliefs influence their responses to illness and treatments. That understanding allows him to tailor his treatments to the individual and achieve a better response to the care he provides.
During his leisure time you will find him working in his yard, mowing, tree trimming, doing home improvements, and maintenance. He also enjoys fishing and family time.
He gives thanks to all his patients who have trusted him for their medical care over 30 years. Patients that have brought him so much enjoyment in knowing and caring for them, and enriched his life.
